Ideology

One of the greatest 'abilities' that we humans have is that we are capable of adapting and changing based on our environment.
Because of this I am able to act in a different manner when around different people for the same reason that early humans could move in to Europe and out of the Middle East even though normally it is to cold.
So what I am wondering about is when this, what do you see when you think of a peaceful life.
I think of a stone cottage in the woods, a stone path leading away, there is a cow roped to the side of the house and in the back you can see the edge of a small garden. All of the colors are hyper saturated.
This is just what I think of, but i am guessing that most people refer to the past. So what did people back then think of?
Like if you go back to the thirteenth century, and asked a person what they though about or even knew about the past what would they say?
I am not actually sure, when was the Roman Empire forgotten, or the ancient Greeks or Egyptians.
As I write this I realize the dark ages did a great job of covering up the past.

On a related note, at what point will people think back and see where we are now?
Like in a world that looks more like blade runner rather than what we see today will a person lay down in their bed and imagine a world like ours today.
I don't actually think so.
If people manage to not destroy ourselves I think this time will be the part of history that is summarized.
Yes we are advancing at a rapid rate, but when I think back I don't see 17 and 18 century for their technological advancements. In fact the only reason I think we know about it in any real detail is because that is when the United States was created, an that is where I happen to live so I 'must learn about the history'.
I don't know.
It is a hypothetical which is what is always on my mind.
Yeah.
Have a nice day.

Science?

"Is science of any value?
I think the power to do something of value."
The Meaning of it All, Richard Feynman.

Feynman goes on to say  "To every man is given the key to the gates of heaven. The same key opens the gates of hell.". This was brought to my attention a while back by a fantastic youtube video made by Vsauce, but it made we start wondering. Is science really of any value?

And as Feynman stated, i do think that the ability to do something is of power. We have done some really bad things, just look at the dark ages. This is a time period of one thousand years in which we did nothing, things literally just got worse and there was no progression. There are the crusades, pointless slaughter of thousands.
How many people died for the industrial and scientific revolution?

An estimated 500,000 people were killed in the nazi experiments, one thing that they discovered was how to treat hypothermia. Before this we had a very primitive idea as to how to treat this condition. It is because of them that we are able to save hundreds if not thousands of people a year.

People complain about genetic engineering and yes it can in some bad cases cause symptoms, here I wont be trying to disprove that, but less know about the green revolution. The green revolution is a grand example of this, it has allowed more people to be able to eat food, allowing the population of the world to rise. The production of things like IR8 we have been able to make places that normally wouldn't be able to grow large amounts of food to at least feed their population.

The point of all of this i guess is that science is not a perfect immediate answer, is a slow moving answer that after trying things all different ways progresses into a more perfect tomorrow.
I hate it when i hear people talk about how they wish people would go back to how we originally were, how that would be so much nicer and better for everyone. I wan to point out that for that to happen you would have to kill about 6,500,000,000 people, and every single one (almost) of them will fight for it with everything they have. So yeah that wouldn't be that great, plus you would lose so much.
So yeah.

"There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance." Socrates.

yuck, feelings...

 I was thinking.
What is the strongest of human emotion.
No that is the wrong question, which human emotion is the one that pushes us the farthest.

In most places you look, hear, ask or see its tends to be the same answers. Love, Fear and Hate.

First people think that love is because it is a strong emotion no matter how you look at it, and people will do lots of things for love. But if you dissect that feeling you find a lot of love is just other emotions. Fear, jealousy, sometimes Hate, and there is also Lust. So is Love really the strongest? It seems like Love is an emotion with strength, but the reason it is considered so strong is because it 'comes' with so many other emotions. And yes it can push us to do some crazy things, but often it is done for a different reason so for several reasons. So i have to say i don't think that love is the right answer.

The next most common emotion is Fear, and Fear is also a very strong emotion. I would say stronger than love, or maybe more pure. Fear is one of the most pure i think, if you are truly sacred, or Fearful of your life than you are going to dismiss just about all other feelings. Your muscles can give out, you let go of reason, put basically people tend to give up when they are very very afraid.  But i don't think that Fear is the strongest because even if most people break down in Fear, there are those few people who preform better when under fear. We always hear about the extraordinary things that some people have done, even in the worst of times. Fear i think can push people to do even more crazy things than love but again people do one of two things with this emotions. One break down and do nothing, or two do the unthinkable. It is because of these things i think that Fear, even though it is a very strong and pure emotion, is not the strongest or most forceful.

Next on the common list is Hate, and for good reason. Hate, like Fear is an over overwhelmingly powerful emotion, and mind you here i am talking about real hate. The hate that makes you feel as though whatever it is you Hate is disgusting, utter filth. It should be removed, the feeling that whatever you feel this toward you want nothing less than pain for it. You give up your morals for this thing and want it to hate itself just as much as you hate it. Hate is strong and can be very pure, but it can never be the strongest and most pure because you have to have a reason why you hate them, and that must stem from something else, leaving Hate as a secondary feeling. Hate makes people do insane things, they give up reason, but i don't think that this has gotten people that far over all. So Hate cant take this title.

I want to point out that all of these are very strong emotions, and for all i know they are the most powerful, this is just how i look at them and what i think.
Now for what i think should hold this title of the strongest.

Curiosity.
